Weano Gorge
This image is taken in Weano Gorge, just near our accommodation, using an ultra wide-angle lens (equivalent to a 10mm or 14mm on a DSLR camera). The camera is on a tripod and positioned around 20 or 30 centimetres above the water. I have shot a series of images with different focus points so I can create an image with sharpness right through to the background, but I actually prefer the single frame which is sharp in the foreground, but satisfactorily blurred in the background.
A long exposure - around 10 seconds - has blurred the water sufficiently to make it look like liquid oil, oozing out of the gorge. I'm not quite sure if that is a suitable analogy, but I love the softness of the water compared to the hardness of the rock.
