You're not allowed to take photographs inside the Basilica San Francesco, but they will let you buy postcards and CDs at the attached shop. This is a great pity because the church would rate as one of the most magnificent interiors I have seen, not because of its scale but for its colour and design. My image depicts the monks and nuns of Assisi conspiring to put up the prices of their postcards, in my view an unfair and unholy monopoly.
